At the Global Videogames Conference in Paris,
France THQ's President/CEO Brian Farrell stepped
up the plate and spoke about his company's plans
with the PS2. He first started out by talking
about the financial incomings for THQ, then he
mentioned that THQ is the fourth ranked
publisher in North America.
He then jumped on the focus of video gaming and
backtracked to E3 where he made the statement to
release 10 PS2 games before 2002. Of course
Summoner and Red-Faction would be part of the
ten releases, while a new WWF wrestler would
also accommodate the ten THQ titles, as well be
developed by Yukes.
Pacific Coast Power & Light will be
developing a new adventure title for the PS2
along with their planned MotorCross title.
Farrell also said that another WWF game will be
made for the PS2 but this one will be for online
purposes, but THQ hasn't revealed if this WWF
Online title would be strictly for online
purposes or not. Brian Farrell said that he
hopes to evolve THQ's Summoner and Red-Faction
into a franchise, so that means a sequel is
almost certain for both titles. On a final note,
Farrell concluded by saying that THQ's next-gen
Motocross title will be available next year in
2001 during the first half and will also have
online features.
