PS3 To Use Blu-ray

At a funciton for Blu-ray Disc Founders, Sony announced that they will be using Blu-ray Discs in their next-generation console. Sony has invested heavily in the format, and is hoping that using it in the Playstation 3 will help it spread into the mainstream. The discs can hold up to 50GB if they are dual-layered and half as much for a single-layered disc, which is far more than its competition the HD DVD, which only holds 30GB when dual-layered.
