SquareSoft makes projections for PlayOnline and reveals Price

  SquareSoft has officially announced their projections for PlayOnline, their upcoming online service. The average monthly fee will be $10 a month, as other optional fees are available. SquareSoft expects to ship 400,000 copies of the PlayOnline package, with 250,000 projected users in the first year. The company hopes that number will climb to over 400,000 worldwide subscribers at the end of two years.

   Also detailed in SquareSoft’s report was the fact that Final Fantasy X has shipped 2.48 million copies in Japan. The company expects to ship 2.4 million units in the US and 380,000 units in Europe. FFX will be released December 26 in North America and will be in limited supply.
