Army Men: Air Attack 2

Publisher: 3DO
Developer: 3DO
Genre: Action
Number Of Players: 1-2

Let's face it, we all hate Army Men games by now but they sell like hotcakes. If you recall the only good Army Men title on the market was the Air Attack game. Green and Tan are at it again and Green has to fight for their territory, so they send a helicopter to shoot down Tan's and pick up needed objects. This was the only Army Men game worthy of a purchase and now 3DO has decided that they will once again release another Army Men game, this time a sequel to Air Attack. The Army Men franchise is indeed very popular so why not make the best of it by making future Army Men games worth picking up and playing through. Read the preview of Air Attack 2 and see how it's shaping up.

The graphics in Air Attack were pretty, bright, and just created the whole feel of the outdoors. The top down view made everything visible clearly and the textures were really something special. Luckily everything seen in Air Attack will be in Air Attack 2 in full force and then some. 3DO hopes to keep the frame rate juiced up at all times, and the eye candy going continuously. The texture detail still looks just as good as Air Attack and the same goes for the helicopter. The eye candy experience will definitely be present, as you can tell from the screenshots it seems as if 3DO is almost giving us an apology for the previous Army Men games.

For starters there are over 20 new missions and 10 different environments to raise some plastic toy hell. Some of the landscapes include a Halloween Night, a Flower Bed, Japanese Garden, a backyard and even the Wild West. 3DO is aiming higher with AA2, they are hoping to achieve better looking CGs, a deeper storyline and more sophisticated gameplay for some tactical/evasive action. Air Attack 2 should keep gamers going longer with its multiplayer features like deathmatches and co-op matches. If everything goes smoothly in Air Attack 2's development then you should be looking forward to a good game this October 2000, right now I have my fingers crossed.
