Ahhh, one of the most enjoyable Playstation games is finally getting a sequel, but it'll be on the PS2. Klonoa was a game about the fate of the world called Phantomile, and it was up to Klonoa a floppy eared looking creature to save his home. For those who never played Klonoa, first of all shame on you! Second, this game is a lot like Tomba (the first one), the game was a 2.5 dimensional adventure side-scroller that was a mix of Mario, Sonic, and this one secret ingredient that will leave you in awe. Some of you may be thinking, "why should I buy Klonoa 2 when I've got games like MGS2 and FFX on my door step"? Well here are your reasons why you absolutely must have Klonoa 2 next year in April, on and along with 10 other reasons.

When I first saw the screenshots I was absolutely stunned, the game uses an engine which seems to be running in both fields of vision, 2D and 3D. All rejoice true gamers, it seems as if Namco is slightly hinting that side-scrollers will never lose their passion, the visuals seems to be a mix of cell-shaded anime characters (kind of like Jet Grind Radio on DC), with three dimensional backgrounds and cell-shaded interactive objects like gems. The structures like houses are works of wonder. Take a look these shots of the game, notice the background and how beautiful everything looks in it, that is a perfect example of what the PS2 is partly capable of doing, imagine a third-gen game. Mark my words, I am extremely satisfied with the visuals in Klonoa 2, I couldn't be any more happy.

Klonoa 2 could very well redefine the average adventure of side-scrolling game, with the amazing visuals it looks like the game will come with an intriguing story. Klonoa will return will most of his friends and also make two new friends in his new adventure, Lolo will support Klonoa throughout the game and Popka, who we know nothing about. Klonoa's journey takes him through (I'm guessing) Lunatea, there are these four bells that keep the town in order, but there is this one fifth evil bell which will cause a disruption if accessed. Well you guessed it something goes wrong and Klonoa is off to start a new adventure, trying to prevent his bell from sounding off. Our floppy eared friend has acquired new moves such as grabbing and throwing enemies with a magic ring, or even use a fainted enemy as a boost for a higher jump and etc. Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil (tentative title) will be released next year in Japan and possibly the US as well, you must pick this one up, it is already looking up to be one of the best PS2 adventure games out there.
