Need For Speed Undercover User Review
The story is lacklustre and does not have any real substance. Getting the vibe that storylines are not for racing games.
In this so called "Need for Speed", you go undercover and pretend to be a racer. How original. :L
Also, the graphics lack detail and the frame rate is almost always dropping and there are a surprising amount of torn frames. The cars initially look good but once out of the garage and on the road, not so much. They lack detail and some are taken straight form Most Wanted.
Which is disappointing. The world, Tri City, is undoubtedly boring but sunny. Still boring though. Also the roads are poorly designed and never fun to race on. They need a lesson from Criterion about racing games seeing as Burnout Paradise looks better and runs at a smooth 60FPS.
The car selection is poor and has all the usuals you would find in previous games. It seems as though they wrapped up a new game from old parts. I guess short development times do this to the industry.
The controls of the cars is at times loose and the cars tend to slide but at times the cars feel more planted and balanced. Also the difference in Fwd and Rwd cars is very subtle for some reason.
Replay value is very low because you won't want to play it again for the story and the cars leave a lot to be desired
The game is a disgrace to the previous NFS games. I would rather still play Most Wanted or Underground even. :P
Peace
