Dead Island. Hearing those words gave me chills. My friend had shown me a link to it via facebook, and I was impressed with the first trailer. The following months left me anxious and excited, until it was finally released, and I was more than please. It was everything I had been looking for in a zombie game. Outsanding graphics and enviroment design, realtistic effects and movements, serious and scary, heavy melee focus. The beginning nearly cause me to piss my pants, and it pounded on excitement after excitement. The most it calmed down was when I was strolling down a beach, admiring the hotel in the backround, the amazing trees, and the zombies running straight at me, screaming. Thats when I realized the normal controls were easy to use, however not a challenge. For thos of you who like to feel totally involved, I recommend "Analog" fighting style. You have to get into stance, raise you weapon in the direction of your choice, and swing it (also which ever way you want). After dying hundreds of times and losing a third of the money I was making (repairing and upgrading weapons with the rest) I finally made it through a chaotic beach, and undead-infested city, a horrific and dangerous jungle, I made it to the the next location, which suprised me, but I wish not to reveal spoilers. You'll just have to see for yourself. That is, if you aren't consumed by the never ending hordes of infected first. Playing as Logan, I've enjoyed the right to his fury, a short perios of time in which time slows down and you can throw unlimited, powerful knives quickly at enemies. Saving my ass quite a few times, I can't wait to finish and play as the other 3 characters. Multiplayer is insanely fun, the thrill of being chased by hungry demons with a buddy at your side never loses its amusement. I strongly recommend Dead Island, especially for all Fallout, Dead Rising and Borderlands fans. Have fun survivng in apocolyptic wastelands!
