Dark Souls User Review

As I rest before the lord vessel, I watch as the shadows of my fellow adventurers push forward to face Gwyn, Lord of Cinder and the completion of their incredible journeys. Upon this altar, I contemplate upon my time in Lordran and the trials and tribulations that brought me here. It is with great sadness and elation that I face the end of my pilgrimage. This contradiction defines Dark Souls.

I know countless articles have been written about the difficulty involved in the completion of Dark Souls. I think this discussion has hurt the game forcing many would be adventurers to avoid it. If there was one attribute that will aid you into completion of the game I would have to say it would be patience. Every enemy and every boss has a weakness and it is up to you to discover it and exploit it. With the countless deaths I suffered while playing the game, I learnt something new each time. I never felt cheated nor let frustration turn to hopelessness.

I will not bore you with a description of game play because there are several sites out there that offer this information. I will say that in my opinion Dark Souls has the best combat physics of any action RPG out there, bar none. Great swords feel heavy while rapiers feel precise. Dark Souls has rekindled my love for video games and for that I am grateful. Do yourself a favor and pick this game up. I promise you it will be a wonderful experience that you will not soon forget!
