Uncharted 2: Among Thieves User Review
The beautiful environments, the TALENTED voice actors, the theatrical and heart-pounding music, and the fun and challenging gunplay was enough to keep my eyes glued to the TV and the controller bound to my hands. The constant action can get a little stressing after a while and Naughty Dog knows this. So, they decide to give you a nice break in the game! When Drake arrives in a Tibetan village (I won't spoil anything!), they have you take a nice walk through the village before encountering action again. It's a nice breather that was needed and welcomed.
The intense scenes of action could be compared to that of fast-paced action blockbusters and they ALWAYS kept your attention. Fast thinking was majorly welcomed in times of desperation and there are times when it's almost impossible to differentiate between the gameplay and a scene itself. Often time, the thought that came to players' minds was, "Oh, I'm supposed to move?"
Although, there are many ways to approach a certain situation. It’s not all go out and shoot them all. If you’re just sly enough, you can silently take out every enemy before the first shot is fired. Speaking of gunplay, the aiming system in the sequel has improved since the first installment, making them more accurate and more respondent to your movements.
After about 4 playthroughs, I decided to start playing for higher difficulties. I worked my way up, moved through "Hard" with not much difficulty, then "Crushing" with the full experience of difficulty. After beating it on "Crushing" I couldn't stop myself to play it through several more times on "Crushing". To this day, I continue to play through the entire storyline without stopping. I believe I've beaten it about 10 times, to say the least. Truthfully, I lost track of how many times I've gone through this amazing game! Its replay value isn't too high, seeing as it's the same thing each time through. But, it is one hell of an amazing game the Naughty Dog has so humbly perfected into PS3's finest exclusive.
