PSXE Poll Update: Most Will Have The PlayStation Vita Soon
The PlayStation Vita might have a somewhat prohibitive price tag, but big-time gamers are - perhaps rightfully - excited.
And that's why when we asked if people would be picking up the new portable this past week, the vast majority said they either grabbed it on day one, or they'd eventually get it in the future.
That's a pretty encouraging result, and it could be due to the expansive and satisfying software lineup which, if we have all forgotten, is the reason gamers are called gamers. We have yet to work our way through the entire Vita launch lineup but we've already delivered seven reviews, and the full analysis on the system will be forthcoming. Sony seems to have most bases covered with this new piece of hardware, even if we still say all Vitas should come with a memory card. Seriously, an 8GB would be much appreciated.
This week, with the long-awaited Twisted Metal reboot finally available, we want to know how it went over with the fans. The critics seemed to like it, even if the game didn't earn elite 9+ scores clear across the board. So what do you say? Is it everything you expected it to be, or did it come up short?

The only major thing I haven't figure out yet is hooking it up with my PS3(it says I can't for some reason), yet I can get it to remote play w/my PS3...totally weird to me.
Anyway, I keep switching back & forth from my PS3(infamous2) to my Vita, fiddling around with all the new-fangled dials(so to speak) & services available on it, plus playing a bit of Zipper's demo for "Unit 13" so far).
I also watched a episode of "The Unusuals" on my Vita's Netflix account just to see how it would look...and I am impressed.

Biker make sure both systems are on before you connect. I remember having trouble connecting them until i unplugged the Vita, reset it and plugged it back in after it restarted.

Thanks,
I just another round of fooling with my Vita to PS3 settings some more.
So far, I found that I have to have my PS3 set on "PS Vita System Applications Utility"(at the top of the PS3's game menu) for it to recognize my Vita at all. Otherwise I keep getting a constant "can't connect" pop-up in that window whenever I try to link up the Vita/PS3.
I can't figure out why it just won't synch up, or auto-recognize as soon as I plug in my Vita USB cable.
Or there should be at least, a Vita USB connection setting in the PS3's system settings menu, just like the one already there that automatically pops up when I plug in my PSP.
Another thing I noticed was that once I had D/L'ed all my Vita files over to the PS3, then when I clicked on that same PS3's "PS Vita System Applications Utility" button, it opens up & tells me how much MB/GB I have in there, but not a single bit of info on what items I've put in there(just shows the new styled, "1/2 vita-1/2 PS3 controller icon" in a grey square block, that the PSN store now uses.
I'm baffled on why it won't allow me to what I've got in that file, like it does for my PS3's game data utility, game saves utility, & my mini games utility files????

I want a Vita, I would love to get Uncharted, Wipeout, FIFA and Rayman Origins right now, but sadly at $350 AUD just for the Vita alone and $69 AUD per game (and only the 16GB memory card available here, no 32GB love for us Aussies) the Vita is just a little too pricey right now.
Hopefully in a year PSone classics (and maybe PS2 classics, one can dream!) might be playable on Vita via a firmware update.
Twisted Metal!!!
Came close to cancelling my Twisted Metal Special Edition to help pay off my Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition. Glad I didn't now. 4 player split-screen is something I love!!
Plus, I like to have a mindless fun game on hand that doesn't require online play to enjoy. ( Ahhhh bots and split-screen, you sure know what we older gamers love Jaffe. ;) )
I heard the car physics are a bit off, and you sometimes fly thru the air for no reason. Anyone else have this problem? Many lower scores appear to be nitpicking issues or things reviewers don't personally like.
Biased views aside, is it worth picking up Twisted Metal? Should I save the money and swap it towards Mass Effect 3?

When the PS Vita's price was announced at E3, the 3DS was still $249 US.
Nintendo panicked at the risk of selling a similar priced handheld that wasn't anywhere near as powerful as Vita, so they made a drastic price drop to entice gamers.
Now that Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and Resident Evil Revelations is out showcasing the 3DS, the $249 Vita price is no longer as desirable as the 3DS' $169 price, and the 3DS is more kid friendly (except with the 3D aspect which should work in Sony's favour in the long run)

If a hardcore gamer really wants a Vita, the price shouldn't be too much of a hurdle.
To the average everyday person, the 3DS is the better option because it is cheaper and has Mario.

Now all I need to do is buy a small good pair of computer style dual speakers for when I'm fiddling around with my Vita while it's charging at home.

Thanks man, I didn't think of that, my Sony A/V receiver has the bigger jack input, but I do have 2 sets of "large to mini" adapters, so it should work.
I had all my components attached to a Bose Lifestyle system w/20 Omni-directional speakers and a gigantic tunable sub woofer.
But, I have all my components unhooked right now because I'm in the midst of re-arranging my whole living room to make it all into my own personal gaming man-cave.
With any luck, I'll have everything done before late Spring, just got to find some older piggyback adapter ends for my old console's red, white, & yellow RCA wires.
Then I'll just chain-gang all my retro systems together because I don't have enough system switch-boxes right now & I don't know anyone who still makes or sells them.

That said, half a million in the first 3 weeks isn't that bad, particularly after Christmas and with Monster Hunter on 3DS doing well.

and waiting for some proper games for it.
allot of games are also available on other consoles so its like playing the same games all over again, like fifa, mod nation racers, motorstorm RC, hustle kings, rayman origins, ninja gaiden sigma plus, super stardust delta, wipeout 2048, uncharted, almost all the games available for it now ive already played on my ps3.
$ony really needs to put out some new IPs on the device!
its such a shame they could not have gravity rush ready for release like it was suppose to, it really would of helped boost sales!
really only games available for it that i havent played before are the PSN titles like that monster blob game and escape plan.
speaking of the latter, i was expecting so much more from it!
i thought it would be like ms splosion man, a mix of complex puzzles and platforming over traps.
but its not, its so simplistic!
i mean half the puzzles are drink this coffee, use the touch pad to bring out these blocks, and race across them.
not exactly what you would call a deep complex puzzle!
far too many the same too, if i have one more level that involves coffee and using the back touch pad to bring out blocks im going to scream!
as for TM its been somewhat of a disappointment.
im so happy to see they have not fallen into the next gen trap trying to change things because change is better.
but that said, theres just some really poor stupid frustrating level design choices.
like the electric cage levels.
you have to stay within the cage, go outside the cage and your grace de pleats.
de pleat it fully and you start loosing health.
oh, and did i mention your graze does not build back up?
the WHOLE point of TM is map exploration!
learn where the health stations are, learn where your favourite weapons are, learn where the best choke points are, learn where the best hiding places are.
then they go and completely remove that by forcing you to stay in a really small area.
so what if your low on health?
either sit it out, or use your grace up if you have any to find some health.
what if your low on health, have no grace left, and the cage moves?
then your up sh*t creek without a paddle!
its so hard to find weapons and carry enough of them too.
especially because weapons are so freaking god dam weak!
i mean kamakazie which is the weakest vehicle in the game, the idiot slammed into a wall and had another wall to the left of him so i pined him up against the wall with a boost ram.
thats 40 points damage, 4 ghosts thats another 160 damage, 6 fire rockets, and 5 homing missiles and he still had half his health left!
WTF!?
and this is the WEAKEST enemy in the game!
thats exactly the problem, you find yourself spending more time wondering around looking for weapons then you do blowing sh*t up which really defeats the purpose!
just spoils the fun!
making that worse too is every enemy always goes for you.
ahhhhh, isent this a contest?
so everyone wants to win right?
so why is everyone just shooting me!?
ah, people, there are other cars on the track you know?
gets really frustrating getting ambushed by 5 cars, firing your whole arsenal at 1 of them, only taking half his health off, then having to drive while their still attacking you looking for more weapons.
as i said before you spend more time doing the piss bolt trying to escape from enemies and looking for weapons then you do blowing sh*t up!
is this need for speed, or twisted metal?

I haven't been playing much of TM honestly though, or my PS3 since, getting the Vita last Thursday. It is awesome even if I'm doing nothing but staring at the screen. Just having it in my hands is feels great.
