Monkey Ball Vita: Snap Photos, Use Them In Level Editor
It's yet another interesting game for the PlayStation Vita; "interesting" due to a new feature that encourages practical creativity...
According to Andriasang, Sega has announced that the Vita version of Monkey Ball (entitled "Super Monkey Ball Tokumori Asobita!" in Japan) will release on June 14. Those of you familiar with the addictive franchise's gameplay will know what to expect.
But this new portable iteration includes motion controls, rear touch pad control, two-player co-op, and something pretty cool: The ability to take pictures with the Vita's high-def camera, and use those photos to generate custom levels. This can be done in Stage Edit mode and it sounds pretty fun..."I'm gonna take a picture of that...I can definitely use that in my level." For more information and some media, feel free to check out the game's official website. No word on whether or not players outside Japan will get their hands on this one.
But that idea definitely needs to make it into other games that boast level editors. We just wonder how seamless the integration of our photos will be in our custom levels; we're hoping for something pretty dynamic.
