Resistance: Burning Skies Trailer: The Chimera Are At It Again
We finally have a portable with dual analog sticks, which means a shooter should be a very different experience.
Developers have already delivered a couple third-person action games for the PlayStation Vita (Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Unit 13), and both have performed very well control-wise. However, the FPS is a very different animal, so a game like Resistance: Burning Skies will be a great test of the Vita's ability to handle a true-blue shooter. ...and we really think it can do it.
Thus far, our hopes are high. Here's the latest trailer for the upcoming title; towards the end, you can catch a few snippets of impressive gameplay. There's no doubt that the Vita is a powerful little unit, and it should do this award-winning franchise justice.
Resistance: Burning Skies will be ready to go on May 29. If you're a fan of the series and, of course, are a Vita owner, this one should be a definite purchase consideration.

My main problem was the Chimera, nothing new was explored about them. R1 especially explored the creatures deeply and I found it really intriuging to follow and learn more about them. While in R3, they we're just there. I liked the hopping creature and was hoping for more variations of Chimera other than the occassional boss, but it was not to be found.
I don't know about anyone elses experience on co-op but when I played it there were times at the end of levels or cutscenes where there would just be a 15 second pitch black screen, at first we thought teh game had froze, but it was just the games awful way of loading.
I haven't played online yet, but then I'm not really an online gamer, so I cannot account for the online experience, but as an offline game I just found it seriously lacking.

What made it great for me was in particular the weapons and their handling. That was world class, second to none.
But how about the artwork! Everything from the shapes of the buildings to the outfits, the vehicles, the entire world. It had loads of class and personality. Each map told a story of their own, just in the environment. You looked around you, details like items in a room, marks on the ground, all those things that created a whole.
The game had a definite, unique soul. I loved that.
