Spy Hunter Reboot Races To Vita, 3DS
Oh man...Spy Hunter!
Those who recall the highly entertaining game entries in the industry's history will grin at this news: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced Spy Hunter, a reboot of the legendary combat driving franchise, which is in development at TT Fusion for both the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS. It'll race onto store shelves this fall. Nostalgia kickin' in yet?
Believe it or not, this series is close to celebrating its 30th anniversary (the original released in arcades way back in 1983), and the developers want to bring gamers the "most thrilling and dangerous ride yet." We will once again adopt the appropriately vague role of "Agent," and our car is the bestest thing in the whole wide world: It's the wicked sleek and high-tech G-6155 Interceptor supercar, equipped with advanced weaponry and crazy armor.
Said Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Senior Vice President of Production and Development (holy God, what a mouthful) Samantha Ryan:
"Spy Hunter's classic gameplay has been upgraded to give PlayStation Vita and 3DS players a new, adrenaline-charged experience. Gamers now have more choice in the transformation and customization with greater hand controls, brilliant graphics and enhanced action cameras."
Seamlessly transforming from speedy supercar to an all-purpose, off-road assault vehicle, the Interceptor will take you everywhere. Players will be able to outfit and customize their futuristic vehicle with all sorts of gadgets and other deadly goodies, and for the first time ever, the "Agent" will get some help "in the form of an unmanned aerial support drone." Sweeet. Then you've got the awesome crash choreography and some slo-mo effects, so we're set. What more could we possibly need?
If you've never heard of Spy Hunter, you must now turn over your gamer card to the proper authorities.
