Survey Suggests Gran Turismo Will Race Onto PlayStation Vita

Well, a Gran Turismo entry landed on the PSP, so why not Sony's new portable?

According to a gamer informing IGN of a European survey in which he participated, a Vita version of Gran Turismo 5 might be imminent.

One of the questions asked if he'd be interested in a Vita iteration of the most recent GT installment, and apparently, it was a two-part question. The first merely asked if he'd be interested in GT on the Vita; the second was a follow-up question- "Knowing that you might be able to get a discount on the PS3 version of the game, how interested are you know in the PS Vita version?" After, the survey took another step and asked the following:

"Imagine that as part of PlayStation Plus, every time you bought a game on either PS3 or PS Vita, you would be entitled to get the game on the other console absolutely free. So, if you bought Resistance on PS Vita, you could download Resistance on PS3 for free. Or if you got FIFA on PS3, you could download the PS Vita version for free."

Woah...who's going to say no to that? An entirely free version of the game on a different platform, just because you bought one version? Really? And you notice they cite a third-party franchise (FIFA) as well as the first-party Resistance, so this concept might involve all Vita titles in the future. Of course, we can't get too hasty; we're only talking about a survey, and one we didn't see, either. Let's just wait for something official.

Yeah we had a dude in here the other day that said something about this free copy business. I think it's pretty smart but unlikely to happen for most titles.

mmmh GT5 on Vita would be nice. I think motion controls would be a halfway decent option for it as well... ... at times.

This sounds like a good idea, I think World might be right, it might not happen for all titles but it would be lovely.

I am a fan of Gran Turismo, but only the first two. I've played them all, even the one for the PSP (which I thought was terrible) and Gran Turismo 5 was actually quite disappointing. It claims that it's the 'real' driving simulator, but they're far from that. As for a PS Vita edition, I feel like it'll be another disappointment. I'll most likely buy it, but the creators should not label it the 'real' driving simulator. If that's how driving really was then... Well, racing wouldn't be exciting in real life.

If they give out a free version along with your paid one for both, the PS3 & Vita, then I'd definitely be sold,

Something like this would amplify sales of the PS3 the Vita and Playstation Plus! Even if it is not for all titles.

I would get it. Although I do have GT5 already lol. Wouldn't mind getting it again and giving it to my little brother.

I would buy GT5 for the vita. I would definitely become a plus member again if they do give you one version of a game
for free, but that probably means a digital download.

Just completed the survey. I am so excited about getting the vita version free with the ps3 purchase with playstation plus. Sony has hit the bull's eye with this offer. I never found playstation plus attractive until now. But the survey also suggests only first party games might be available for a year :(
