Enter The Wondrous World Of Paper With Media Molecule's Tearaway
SCEA president Jack Tretton says he feels better about the Vita now than he did four months ago, and now we know why.
He was aware of all this great new Vita software!
In addition to Killzone: Mercenary, Sony has unveiled another portable heavy hitter, this one from the LittleBigPlanet developers. That's right, Media Molecule's latest is slated to hit the Vita next year, and the project captures the wondrous world of...folded paper.
Taking advantage of the portable's cool features, Tearaway is about what you'd expect from this team: Ambitious and highly innovative. Studio co-founder Alex Evans demonstrated ways to interact with the game, saying that "paper is just amazing." The game's main character, Iota, is controlled in the traditional way, with thumbsticks and buttons, but the player will also utilize the game's front and rear touchscreens.
We will have "godly powers," according to Evans and the best way to understand the theory is to see it. Check this out.

I'm also glad to see Media Molecule finally step away from Little Big Planet. I was a good game sure, but who here honestly cars for Little Big Planet Karting (after they already made 2 Modkart racing titles). This looks like a tremendous step forward for both MM & the Vita. Look forward to seeing more.

Now, as impossible as it may seem due to the unique gameplay mechanics, I hope that Sony will keep it exclusive to the Vita. It sure must be tempting to put out a PS3 iteration after a game has achieved tremendous success on the handheld but doing so will not help the cause of the Vita.

Well, guess this is another title to add to my wishlist. I think I'll be asking for a Vita for Christmas this year.
Also, for people complaining the Vita has no games, here's a list of great games either out now or coming.
Uncharted Golden Abyss
Rayman Origins
Wipeout 2048
Super Stardust Delta
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3
Gravity Rush
Sound Shapes
Escape Plan
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Mortal Kombat
Assassin's Creed III: Liberation
CoD Black Ops Declassified
Killzone: Mercenary
Littlebig Planet Vita
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Playstation All Stars Battle Royale
Tearaway
Persona 4 Golden
Final Fantasy X HD
Jet Set Radio HD
Street Fighter X Tekken
and (hopefully) Ken Levine's Bioshock Vita is still on track.
I don't know about you, but over the next year or two, I don't see any shortage of games to play on Vita. :)
