Sony To Release New Vita Plus Bundle Next Week For $299

The PSP can now be had for only $99. But that doesn't mean you can't find great PlayStation Vita deals.

To celebrate the launch of the PlayStation Plus subscription for Sony's new handheld, they're releasing a new Vita bundle next week.

Plus brings the Instant Game Collection and all the benefits of membership (early access to betas and demos, discounts, cloud storage, etc.), and this package also boasts a voucher for Unit 13, a 4GB Memory Card, and of course, a 3G/Wi-Fi Vita system. The included Plus subscription is for the standard one-year term. The price? Only $299.99, which represents a big $100 savings.

So far, the Instant Game Collection features six Vita titles, including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, and WipEout 2048, and more are coming your way soon. If you have a PS3, you'll also automatically unlock no less than a dozen hit games, with names like inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. These come to you at no additional charge. If you're already a Plus member, this bundle still works for you, as the 1-year subscription is added on top of your current subscription.

This is an incredible deal, well done Sony! The 4GB in conjunction with PS+ can work with some effort. Also, buying the 8, 16 or 32GB cards only supports Sony's Vita cause. That is how I look at it.

Wow. Awesome deal.

I wonder if this means Unit 13 is the next game up for Plus? I hope so.

This is a good deal but I've decided to hold off on the Vita for now. I was going to spring for the AC3 Liberation bundle but decided to wait. It's taken alot of self restraint on my part though. I'm still working on Halo 4, and just got Dishonored and NBA2k13 for $25 each on black friday. Add in the fact I also plan on getting AC3 and Far Cry 3 for this year and I really don't have the time (or the money) to get a new console.

Vita is a great machine and a lot of these bundles the past few months have been tempting. But if you are to take advantage of Plus (and you should) you will def need the 32 GB Memory card. Extra $100 on top of everything else. Hard pill to swallow. I wish Sony would either drop the price of those things, or create 2 seperate bundles, one with a 4GB card and one with a 32 GB card. Ditch the whole 3G thing while they're at it.

I eventually plan on picking up a Vita but it'll be after the price drops. And sometime when I don't have too many other games to play.

With the plus added which is great, couldn't they bump up the memory to 8gb. 16gb better actually, just thinking that, because the PSPGO had 16gb.

To the average consumer this is still to expensive, way get a $299 vita over a $249 ps3 which has a better game libary. Sony needs to steal apples marketing team and give them a blank check.

I agree. What I don't get is that this bundle is clearly encouraging digital downloads with the included Unit 13, and obviously everything you get with Plus, yet it only includes a 4GB. That would hold maybe 2 of the games? I'd much rather them get rid of the 3G feature that few people even want, and include a 32GB or even a 16GB memory card instead of the 4GB.

Yep, its a point I've been making about the Vita for some time now. What could you really do with a 4GB card? not a whole lot, even less if you plan to put music, movies, and games onto it... So then, you are forced to buy more memory, a nice 32GB would do nicely, however not with that $100 price tag.

Sony needs to stop with these stupid bundles, and just lower the price of memory...

I've been downloading the free Vita games so I have a library when I finally get one.

I've been doing the same thing, I love being a Plus member. It's great that nothing expires as long as you're a member. I've been a lazy gamer.

If this pack is available in Canada, this may be the one I'll get.

If the AC Vita weren't white, I'd get that one, but I like the option of having 3G just in case I ever need it and the "beginner's" memory stick saves me from needing to buy a larger stick immediately...hopefully, the price on the 32 gig stick will drop before too long.

the problem with sonys strategy to sell vita units is that they have bundles that are suppose to be lower costing than the standars 250 pops for the vita, they charge 300 and think they can sell the thing.

is there a comparable bundle available for the WiFi only version? reason being i dont have AT&T only T-Mobile so it would make little sense to get the 3g enabled version of the unit.

It sounds like the general consensus from people here is that Sony needs to start bundling the price down, not budle it up.

I jumped on Amazon's $179 deal for the Assassin's Creed bundle with PS All Stars, that was the price point I couldn't say no to.

They need to work on getting bundles or even just the base unit to $199. Not charging $299 and throwing in a bunch of extras people may or may not want.

I'd be happier having paid $20 less for my bundle if they didn't include the 4GB memory card that I already need to replace because Uncharted pretty much completely fills it.
