Vita Web Browser Off Limits When Playing A Game
The PlayStation Vita is a nifty unit, no doubt about it. But there are some things it just can't do...yet.
According to Andriasang, players will not be able to access the Vita's web browser in the middle of playing a game.
In other words, when you press the PS button (as you might on the PS3 controller), you can bring up the menu and have access to several features. That includes your music collection, friends list, and the system's Twitter client, and you can always return to your game. But source Impress Watch wanted to clarify a particular point: you can't browse the web when pausing a game with the PS button. If you want to surf, you'll have to quit your adventure.
However, the good news is that based on the wording of the information, Sony might fix the issue with a future update. ...we imagine a great deal of things will be addressed with updates and patches, which isn't a bad thing.

I mean, you need to get somewhere and don't know how or you want a shiny new thing that's hidden somewhere and you need to check an online FAQ or guide...and you need to boot up you laptop to do this... it's mildly annoying :/

Did you forget they are going to be pretty close to PS3 games and that some will even be on both? ... Why would they not be worthy of a strat guide?
But I agree with you that in my case I would not use the browser when *on the go* and playing a game. Id rather just look it up on my 3g cellphone while I play on my Vita. Makes way more sense. I mean why would I share my phones 3G to my wifi Vita to use its internet when I could just do it on my phone in the first place lol

It would also pretty cool to be able to do this on the PS3, assuming, of course, that they updated the browser first. Speaking of which, does anybody know if the Chrome deal fell through or not?

50 bucks more but it has inbuilt memory vita does not, larger screen, cheaper games each ipad game is 10 or less and there just as good, full multitasking, easy customization.......
vita is going to flop even faster then the 3Ds if $ony does not give us a massive price drop, and lower the price of those ridiculous memory cards!
i really cant understand it.
very limited multitasking, games if prices stay as they are now are the same as ps3 games, costs 50 bucks less then a ps3, no game archiving on launch, very limited launch line up, ridiculously overpriced accessories, restricted to 1 PSN account per unit.
$ony really dont want people buying this do they!?

But the main reason that feature was there was that the GO came with installed 16gb memory. So it is either they don't do it since not everyone will be able to use it due to the lack of a memory card... Or it will be offered to people with enough space on theirs... Like to people with 8gb and up memory cards in their Vita.
