Might Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Come To The Vita?

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is one of the most brutally entertaining games of the year.

Might PlayStation Vita fans soon be able to take the ultra-stylish slashin' action on the go? It seems feasible.

According to NeoGAF user (as cited at Dual Pixels), Sony's new handheld might indeed get the benefit of Kojima/Platinum's hot new production. There's a Trophy list that clearly shows "PS3" and "PS Vita" under the "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" label, which is hardly official confirmation but still quite interesting. It's possible that the game in question could be ported to the Vita, and Sony's portable might be able to support it very well. That's one powerful little unit.

We'll have to see what comes of this. The more software the Vita has, the better, even it's just a port of a pretty good PS3 game.

Cool. These hyper violent games are easier for me to play on a small screen in my hands. What with kids around and all.

I'm okay with Vita getting a lot of great PS3 games as ports. These days there's just so many PS3 games to play it'd be nice to have a mobile option for me to help stay on top of them all.

My thoughts exactly. I will probably get Revengence for PS3 at some point but with my backlog; maybe, maybe not.

I'd buy it today on Vita though...

Before I got my vita I thought the only games I would buy on it were games I couldn't get on the ps3, but now after having it for a while I'd probably buy just about any game on the vita over other platforms.

Its surprising how nice it is to just be able to pick up and play and take it with you.

Another port...>_> why not make a Wolf Vita game that is compatible with the PS3 game?...ideas like that would make me buy a Vita.

It's not a console seller for me... if anything I am still wondering when these 30 VR Missions are going to hit the European store, I will feel cheated it we don't get them for free.

would be a awesome addition to the vita!
but this highlights the issue with the vita.
whos going to go spend 400 or so bucks on a vita, plus 70 or so bucks for every game, so they can play the games they could play on the home console they already own?
vita needs titles it can call its own!
and that means titles TOTALLY to its own, not titles like MNR road trip which telling the difference between the two is nigh on impossible!
more importantly it needs new franchises, not spin offs or ports of games we already have on home consoles!

What are you talking about? vitas are like $250 but I've seen deals (and some recently) where you can get one with a memory card for under $200.
And the games start at $40 not $70....

even though the AUD is worth about 1.2USD ATM, were STILL paying TWICE what there paying!

I guess we will find out at gdc during his conference. Should be about an hour long. He will talk about mgs5, the fox engine, and hopefully to talk up this rumor if true. I truly hope it is, it would be so awesome!

This is great news and the marvel of the Vita! It can play close to PS3 quality ports/games AND has it's own games. It really is the best of both worlds. The more games the better.

Sony hit the strategy nail right on the head when they decided what the Vita's purpose would be. I cannot tell you how many games I play on the PS3 that I would love to also enjoy on the Vita. Hopefully this will have a Cross-Save function as well. However, I really want this game and don't think I will be able to wait for the Vita version. Great to hear about more games on the Vita though!

it would actually be a good news for a vita owner like myself - I would love to play this thing on my portable.

But I could have sworn I saw an article about 2 months back about how the VITA just didn't have enough power (in terms of battery life) to make it an enjoyable experience...which is what one of the developers said.

I literally cannot beat the last boss of MGR. Like, I gave up. I haven't given up on a game in 20-plus years (at least not for difficulty reasons.) I will circle back to this game at some point because I want that son of a b**** dead SO BAD. But for now, I'm not even close. So much more difficult than everything else that came before it. Soooooo frustrating.

Vita needs new games you can't play elsewhere, be it from a established series or new IP from major studios. Vita doesn't need ports of games that if people wanted to play they'd do so on a console. The only time the Vita should be getting the same version of a game as consoles is if it uses "cross-play" and in turn is hopefully either "cross-buy" or at least a discounted bundle.
