Dragon's Dogma Quest For Vita: A 2D, Online-Only RPG

Even though it probably won't be anything like the console game, it still might be a sweet addition to the PlayStation Vita's library. We can hope.

According to Famitsu (as cited by Siliconera), Sony's portable will see a spin-off of Capcom's well-received Dragon's Dogma. It's called Dragon's Dogma Quest and strangely enough, it'll be a 2D, free-to-play, online-only RPG. No word on if it's coming to the US.

They're calling it "a fast-paced RPG you can play on the go," and there will be over 150 jobs available. The player presides over fights, issuing commands, etc, which means there's more of a focus on strategy rather than action. Still, the developers hope to "capture the spirit" of the original game. Players will also explore dungeons, towns and villages, and there will be plenty of side-quests, too. If you team up with a friend, you will have a party of eight, because each of you will be outfitted with four pawns. That's quite the party there.

Lastly, Famtisu does confirm that although it's free-to-play, the game will also have a billing model. Pay a little and speed up the process of advancing, you know?

If it's any good, I would love to have it down here in the states. I could sure get some more use out of my Vita. Currently messing with Guacamelee & Limbo.

I've tried hard to get into the PS3 game, but it's too facking hard. Even on easy the monsters I have to fight are just wiping me out in one hit and grinding doesn't do anything but waste time. Debating selling it.

@World are you sure you're not just going up against mobs that are far above your level? I only ask because I find the game quite easy(well, at least until I reach the endgame content)and I don't consider myself a pro or anything. Dark Souls still gives me nightmares :P

I must be, but all I'm doing is taking on the early quests in the game. Unless I'm supposed to run away from most encounters I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Too hard? If it was any easier I would have to let a 5 year old play it for me! World! Ever since you changed your avatar from the awesome boobage of Tifa to the wussy boy from FF8, you have become ..... weaksauce!!!!

I will reserve my judgement on this game until it comes out. I cant wait for the ps4 game by Capcom that is coming out.

End of line.

You should reload your browser, and don't make fun of Squall, he f*cked your mother's ass.

In any case, when I'm being wiped in one hit that makes things difficult for me, dunno bout you.

Another 2D game on vita doesn't sound interesting to me at all. God killzone and tearaway can't come soon enough
