Vita TV Won't Support All Vita Titles

It's a slick idea, but bear in mind that not all PlayStation Vita software will be compatible with the recently announced Vita TV.

Unveiled during Sony's pre-TGS press conference, Vita TV was confirmed for the Japanese market. And they've released a preliminary compatibility list, as reported by Engadget.

Remember that the Vita is controlled via standard Dual Shock controller, so some titles that require the use of the Vita's touchscreen won't be compatible. There's a link to the full list of initially compatible games and as you can see, big-name titles like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048 and Gravity Rush aren't on there. However, for your $100 investment, you'll still be able to play cool games such as Soul Sacrifice, Persona 4: Golden and Lumines: Electronic Symphony. It's also important to note that upcoming games like Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and God Eater 2 will be compatible with Vita TV. Can't wait for those FF remasters!

PlayStation Vita TV will be ready to go in Japan on November 14.

A hundred bones huh? That's pretty steep for low compatibility but I'm glad these kinds of things exist ya know.

Think I'll just play FFX on PS3.

Agreed, also how the hell are we supposed to play PS4 games on it if it will only use an DS3?
Seems like it will be very limited on what games you will be able to play...
But just the possibility of playing Valkyria Chronicles 2,3 on my 47" TV might force my hand LOL

That's just too expensive when it misses so many big Vita exclusives. If I can play a game via PS3/PS4 on my 46" HDTV, I'm going to.

Make it compatible with dual shock 4 and there's your touch screen and full game compatibility.

Unless a game requires the use of both the front a rear touch screens at the same time you could toggle the touch pad with the L3 or R3 buttons.

I don't know why I couldn't get into golden abyss. It's a good game but I haven't even finished it (got it when the Vita came out). I put in 80 hours into Soul Sacrifice and am 1 trophy away from the platinum. Persona 4 Golden is GREAT. Favorite Vita game so far; I clocked in 120 hours on my first playthrough and am considering a second. The Vita does have some really good games, anybody who says otherwise is crazy, but yeah it can use more (Like Persona 5 =D)

I personally think the whole being able to stream your ps4 games to it, thus not requiring you to move your ps4 around or HAVE to have another is quite a valuable feature as well. So when you throw together everything it does, I think it's a pretty fair price for an interesting idea. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it.

I have a feeling that this will be the item that kills the ouya. Think about it, same price, real games, better controller.

If only the PS4 games were as cheap as Android games you would have at least a remotely valid point. :)

Sounds like a cool device. The fact I can play PS4 games in my bedroom without the need to purchase a second PS4 unit makes it worth my money. The Vita physical game slot is a great addition! Plus, my wife will stop streaming Netflix on my backup PS3 and start using this instead, makes it the perfect device for me.

The PS VITA TV is going to be a big hit with players who want remote play and the option to play the vast array of older games available to it. However, SONY needs to embed thus capability into their DLNA compliant Bravia TV line of products (DLNA is missing, otherwise). It would cost them peanuts to differentiate their TVs from the competition in this way, and make it more widespread.
