FFX/X-2 HD Remasters Launch On Same Day For PS3 And Vita

We knew the PlayStation 3 version of the anticipated Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remasters would launch in North America on March 18, 2014.

But at the time, Square Enix didn't deliver an exact date for the Vita iteration. Thankfully, as the publisher just announced, the portable version will be available on the very same day: March 18.

However, contrary to what Square Enix said before, the Vita version won't be sold separately. The two games will be sold together for the price of $39.99 and both will be available to download on the PlayStation Network. There will be a physical release for FFX HD as well, which will ship with a voucher code for FFX-2 HD. For the PS3 version, both remastered titles will be included on one Blu-Ray disc, as you might expect. Lastly, don't forget that both games feature cross-save support for the PS3 and Vita versions (no Cross Buy, though).

Yeah, it's fair to say that I want this far more than either Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII or Final Fantasy XV. What's that tell you, Square Enix?

I really wanted a cross-buy option for this. I hope they have some sort of PS3 + Vita version bundle to save a bit on buying both versions. Otherwise I'm really torn on which one I want to get. Obviously I want the big screen HD experience, but I'll have much more time and opportunity to play it on my Vita.

Decisions decisions...

Woo hoo. Though until I finish Xenogears and FFIV, so we're talking like 3 years from now, I won't be able to get to this. No biggie. I've played through FFX before. I tried FFX-2 but the whole Charlie's Angels gone FF is a jagged pill to swallow. yes, yes, I know it has this charmingly wonderful combat system. Great. But I need FF to be firing on ALL cylinders and not just the combat system. So we'll see hehe.

nice to know the Vita and PS3 has a cross-save feature. Me likes.
Didn't know that.

That's good news for Vita fans. This is the biggest Final Fantasy release of the generation and it's 13 years old.

While it may be a better game I dont think the release is getting the same volume of hype that Final Fantasy XIII got... Certainly more so that Lighting Returns though.

I was thinking about this game today and was unsure if it was going to be on vita, but was hoping it was because it would be perfect.

Knowing they come out the same day, I'm hoping it is one of the cross buy games so I can start playing and play anywhere on day 1.

Pre-ordered the Special Edition on PS3 already, it is a shame that there is no cross-buy feature which if they're going to make a deal out of it on Vita they should really include all games possible to promote it.

In anycase, not to fussed about X-2 on portable, so it is a bit annoying that I can't get the separate. Still I have yet to get a Vita anyway, but when I do, I shall consider this without a doubt.
