Atelier Ayesha Plus Coming To Japanese Vitas In March

As time goes on, JRPG fans will have more reasons to own the PlayStation Vita.

We just have to hope that the titles they want will find their way to US shores. The good news is that most Atelier games have made a North American appearance in recent years.

According to Gematsu (citing this week's Dengeki PlayStation), Atelier Ayesha Plus is currently in development for Sony's portable. The game is slated to launch in Japan on March 27 and a Limited Edition will be available as well. This Vita iteration includes all the downloadable content from the PS3 version, and characters Mario and Odelia will be playable from the start.

There's also a Hard Mode where the enemy has more HP, and the designers have tweaked the game's overall balance. In other words, this should be the definitive version of the game, and that's always good to know.

zoom into the article pick. are those females supposed to be cute little girls with dresses or are they adults? I usually can't tell with this art style.

why can't we have something like this CG art here in a big jrpg? wouldn't that be so much more interesting?
instead over half the time it's this boring cell shaded generalized anime inspired art.

The primary reason is probably that it takes more resource and cost much more to do a realistic looking game than a stylized cell-shaded game. JRPGs are such a niche genre, mostly made by smaller teams, the play it safe and keep doing what has been selling for the past few decades instead of taking a large gamble and risking the company on a game that is untested.

Very late to reply and none of you will probably see this but LOLing at you Temjin sorry but I am. Look up the Atelier series and you would quickly realize why this game is "Cute" in Japan this game is targeted at the demographic of young teen to early adult female gamers and is the exact reason of why it is cute. The Atelier series is made for girls and thus in stereotypical fashion are made cute to try and attract girls. Also PS. those characters ARE cute little girls.

Also this game is almost certain to get a U.S. release seeing as Meruru and Totori have already been on the PSN store for a while and almost all of the PS3 versions are available in physical copy despite being very hard to find.

I just wish the Vita versions would have got a physical release because my memory card is already full and those things are damn expensive. =S
