Sony Says A PS4/Vita Bundle Is An "Interesting Proposition"
Sony just revealed that the slimmer, lighter Vita 2000 model is coming to the US this spring.
This has prompted a logical question from gamers: Will we also see a PS4/Vita bundle at some point? Well, although Sony doesn't rule out the possibility, they're not currently planning to release such a package.
PlayStation hardware marketing boss John Koller told GameSpot that he'd "certainly look at it" and it's "an interesting proposition." However, there are "no firm plans" to release a PS4/Vita bundle right now. He added the following:
"I like the idea personally of being able to put them together if not as a bundle but as a marketed experience point. So Vita we think fits very, very well as a companion device for the PS4. But, I stop there because I want to make sure Vita retains the beauty of what makes Vita Vita. And that's that it's got it's own unique kind of bespoke games."
Maybe it's better to wait until the Vita has a more expanded library, so gamers will be more interested in owning the device. It really needs a healthy helping of exclusive software (not just games that can be played on other platforms), and that Remote Play feature also needs a bit of a boost. In the meantime, let's just hope the Vita 2000 can generate a sales spike.
