Drinkbox Unveils Severed For Vita
With its unique style and gameplay, this title might appeal to those looking for something a little different.
Drinkbox Studios, the team that brought you Guacamelee! and Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!, has announced their latest project: Severed, in development for PlayStation Vita.
You can find the details over at the PlayStation Blog. Severed has you playing as a one-armed warrior named Sasha, who wakes up in a strange world after suffering a catastrophic event. Sasha gets a living sword and then sets off to find her missing family. Combat takes advantage of the Vita's touchscreen capabilities (kinda like Fruit Ninja) but with more depth; for instance, each monster requires a different tactic.
Once Sasha's "focus meter" maxes out, she can enter "Sever Mode," which lets you throw enemies into the air and slice off limbs. You will also notice that the perspective is first-person, which makes things quite immersive. And there are secrets outside the combat, too, so make sure you wander around and check things out.
