Bandai Namco made plenty of announcements at Jump Festa this past weekend, and now they've got another one, and this will appeal to JRPG lovers in the west.

Today, the publisher has confirmed that Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will be available in the Americas for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in 2016.

It's the fourth entry in the popular series and previously, it was only confirmed for Japan. Said Bandai Namco America marketing executive Eric Hartness:

"The Sword Art Online franchise has experienced incredible growth in popularity on a global level with light-novel and anime fans. With Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, we're striving to take fans even further into Sword Art Online's VRMMORPG world. We hope players are ready for the challenge."

We just reviewed Sword Art Online: Lost Song on PS4 and while we weren't impressed, we figured it would effectively cater to the die-hard fans. Chances are, you can expect a similar deal with Hollow Realization. Here's the debut trailer:

As much as I like the sword art anime, I can't recommend these sword art games. Might be because I played the ps4 versions but these vita ports just doesn't sit well with me. They get so damn repetitive and boring. They just have handheld game plastered on the game. On vita, I don't think it won't be bad if played a little at a time but on ps4, it just doesn't work for me. I like playing games for hours on ps4, that's how I play. This one though I get bored fast because it's the same thing over and over again.

First game was find boss room, do quests for info, level up npcs by helping them kill monsters (usually in a very inconvenient spot), kill boss, repeat for 20+ floors I think. I got bored and didn't beat the game. Went to second game and combat is better but still the same. Beat small dungeons to get key item, level grind 50 levels at least, beat boss, next stage, repeat. If there was a lot of variety I wouldn't mind but there's really nothing.there are nice touches like npc players trying to get player kills like it is an mom,but still it feels the same.

Like I said these games are good in little doses but it gets old when played too long. And given that it also has a vita version, assuming that ps4 version is a port of that, it will probably be the same way as first 2 games.
