Resistance: Burning Skies Dated: Gotta Love Those Sticks
Resistance: Burning SkiesAfter hearing that Insomniac was ditching the Resistance franchise, many shooter fans were disappointed.
But as the studio said at the time, other teams would continue to keep the Chimera invasion alive. A great example of that is the upcoming Resistance: Burning Skies for the PlayStation Vita, which now has an official release date.
As announced at the PlayStation Blog, the world's first dual analog portable shooter will be available on May 29 in North America. You can check out the sweet box art at the Blog, too. Burning Skies focuses on "an entirely new dimension of the Resistance universe," as players will step into the boots of Tom Riley, an "everyday fighter" from New Jersey. ...what, Jersey can't have bad-ass military guys?
But perhaps most importantly, the game has been built from the ground up "to take full advantage of the power of the Vita," and that includes front and rear touchscreen controls and of course, the analog sticks. As the Blog post finishes with enticing flair:
"Never thought you’d play a console-quality shooter on a portable device? Game Director Harley Baldwin White-Wiedow has one thing to tell you: 'TWO STICKS, baby!'"

Two Sticks.. this is the MAIN reason (IMO) why the PSP games were difficult to play. Many developers make their games with "two sticks style" in mind. Even PSOne games wasn't entirely enjoyable to play with PSP. Even Metal Gear Solid - Peace Walker lacks of a good control (playing the HD version is a LOT better).
By other hand, games like LocoRoco, Patapon, Lemming and a few more were amazing (no Two Sticks).
Now, with the PSV I think we could (and SHOULD) enjoy that old games "remastered" to take use of the two sticks (something we SHOULD have since PSP).

When I tried it out at my local GameStop, it seemed to be about like the PSP 1000 was, a bit thick & hefty than either the 2000 or the 3000.

once this is out i wish they would go back and re do resistance retribution for the vita, add vita specific features.
that and syphon filter logans shadow are the PSPs 2 best games!
